How to Target Local Business Ads in Antalya
When targeting local business ads in Antalya, use district- or radius-based location targeting based on the business's real service area, select the 'presence' location setting in Google Ads, and account for seasonal demand and the tourist/local audience split. A clinic can get patients from 30 km away, while 3–5 km is often enough for a café.
Antalya isn't a typical city for local advertising: seasonal swings are high, there's both a local and a tourist audience, and distance and traffic behaviour between districts vary. So just typing “Antalya” and moving on is usually a mistake.
1. Define the real service area
Who comes to the business? A 3–5 km radius for a neighbourhood café; Kepez, Muratpaşa, Konyaaltı for a dental clinic; the whole province + neighbouring provinces for a wedding venue. Narrow the ad area to the distance customers actually travel.
2. Choose the 'presence' setting
In Google Ads the default setting also includes people “interested in” the target area. For a local business, change this to “People in your targeted locations”; otherwise you'll show ads to someone in Istanbul searching “Antalya restaurant”.
3. Season and audience
In summer tourist traffic rises; search volume in English/German/Russian goes up. If it's a year-round business, running a separate campaign for the local audience and one for tourists sharpens the message. Cutting budget in winter and saving for summer is also a strategy.
4. Radius on the Meta side
In Meta you can pin the business address and choose a radius (e.g. +10 km). The “people who live in this location” option is usually the most correct for a local business; “people recently in this location” works for tourism businesses.
5. Measure and narrow accordingly
Which district do conversions come from? If conversion tracking is set up, we look at the location report and shift budget to the areas that return. Without data, targeting is a guess.
Frequently asked questions
- In the city centre radius is more accurate; district boundaries can be wide and irregular. For rural or wide service areas, district/province targeting is practical.
- If the business appeals to a tourist audience (restaurant, tour, entertainment), absolutely — but with a separate campaign, separate language and separate offer.
- Usually not. When a small budget is spread over a wide area, there's not enough frequency anywhere. Narrow, get results, then expand.
